Ship Port Agent and Husbanding Services in Batangas

Port agency and husbanding for vessels calling Batangas and other Philippine ports. Clearances, berthing, supplies and crew needs handled by one local team.

A husbanding agent looks after a vessel and everything it needs while it is in port. V. Faytaren Shipping Agency has done this work at the Port of Batangas since 1976, handling clearances, berthing, crew needs and supplies so the master and the owners can focus on the voyage.

What our husbanding service covers

When a ship calls a Philippine port, a long list of people need to hear from someone local: the Philippine Ports Authority, Customs, Immigration, Quarantine, the Coast Guard, the pilots and the terminal. Our job is to be that someone. We file the paperwork before arrival, keep the master informed while the vessel is alongside or at anchor, and make sure nothing holds the ship up when it is ready to sail.

Husbanding is the practical side of that work. Fresh water, provisions, spare parts in transit, a doctor for a sick crew member, a car to the airport, mail from home. These are small jobs on their own, but a vessel that waits a day for any of them loses real money. We handle them through one point of contact so the ship never has to chase several suppliers at once.

We are registered with MARINA as a shipping agency, hold a Philippine Ports Authority permit to operate as ship's agent, and are accredited by the Bureau of Customs. That standing, and decades of working relationships at the port, is what lets us get things moving quickly.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a port agent and a husbanding agent?

A port agent handles the official side of a port call: clearances, berthing and documents. A husbanding agent covers the vessel's practical needs such as supplies, crew assistance and transport. We provide both under one appointment.

Which ports do you cover as ship's agent?

Our base is the Port of Batangas and the private terminals around Batangas Bay. We also act as agent at Manila, Subic, Bataan, Quezon, Poro Point in La Union, Port Irene in Cagayan, Cebu, Davao, Calbayog and Leyte.

How early should we appoint an agent before arrival?

As early as you can. A few days ahead gives us time to file pre-arrival documents and line up berth, pilots and supplies. We can still help on shorter notice, so call the office if the vessel is already close.

Do you send a cost estimate before the port call?

Yes. We send a proforma disbursement account before arrival so you can arrange funds, followed by the final account with receipts after sailing.
